I have always wanted to make my hair slightly colourful, but have never quite had the guts to do so (bar those few days at 14 when I had a rebellious blue streak in my hair!) However, since I am currently in a job where I wear my hair up, and wear a cap, I thought 'why not?!'
The task, as easy as it sounds, was a lot more difficult than imagined, finding somewhere that did bright hair dye seemed impossible! I did finally settle for Stargazer, which I know from friend's experience and reviews, isn't great. But I didn't want it permanent, just to last about 10 washes, so I gave it a go!
Appliance was easy and it's come out a LOVELY bright magenta colour and I couldn't be more happy!! However, I applied the dye December 31st, and today is January 6th and have washed my hair just the once in that time and it is incredibly faded already and looks like it'll be almost out after the next wash! Which is such a shame as I wanted it to last a bit longer!
Fortunately, I have a fair bit of dye left in the bottle, it's just the thought of having to apply again so soon! I know next time I will go for a better brand (ie. Sally's) when I am ready for a bit more of a permanent colour!
Anyone else dye/have dyed their hair bright colours?
What brand dye did you use and how'd it go?
omg, so cool! love it!

I had bright pink hair once! I don't think you'll be able to find anything permanent. I used Directions in flamingo pink and carnation pink, It's semi permanent but lasts longer. The bad side was that I had to re-dye it every month and it can be expensive!! I love the pink in your hair though, looks awesome with a natural colour :) xxx
ReplyDeleteI used crazy color but the pink, purple and blue washed out within 5/6 washes. However I dyed my hair using the same brand in the colour pine green and it's still going strong over 2 weeks and many many hair washes (although it is finally starting to fade) which is a bit of a pain as I wanted it gone for going back to work 2mo! X
ReplyDeletevery cute hair! I've bleached my hair once... but that's about it... and i will never do it again because it damaged my hair so much!

It looks lovely! I've used Directions in the past and found that it lasts for around 3 or so washes before it starts to fade. xxx
ReplyDeleteThis looks really nice! I ordered some 'hair chalks' from kgb deals which i'll do a post on soon! They only last one wash but its quite easy to do. Hope you're feeling better!
