Cheeky trip home

Now, firstly, I apologise for this poorly laid-out post. I have absolutely no idea how to blog using only the iPhone app as this is my first time. Secondly I apologise for the lack of posts lately. I took a spontaneous trip back home to visit my family and best friend and have no computer!

On Sunday, myself and my brother and dad went to watch our Rugby team, London Irish, play. Disappointing results but I won't bore you all with rugby talk.

I am visiting until Thursday however I am reluctant to leave, I get super homesick when back in London. But I am so glad I've been spending quality time with my mum, even if we have just been cleaning the house.

I also let my best friend do my Halloween nails, and considering this was the first time she's ever attempted nail art, I think she didn't do a too shabby job!!

I'll be back to post normally on Thursday and also put up my giveaway! (Hopefully.. Anyone else meant to have been paid a week ago and still have an empty bank account?! :'()

Red and Black Ballerina

Dress - Dorothy Perkins - £20
Ring - Dorothy Perkins  - £1
Necklace - Dorothy Perkins - £2
Nails - Barry M Raspberry £2.99
Shoes - Primark - £8

Last weekend I went to visit my family and my best friend for my brother's birthday. However for me, home trips always turn into shopping trips. Going to town with my mum and best friend is always lethal, even though it isn't that a big a town.

This dress is one my friend picked up, and I was all 'I'll try it on with you!' I ended up buying the beauty. Well, I say me, my beautiful boyfriend paid as he's lovely with surprises like that! I think it's beautiful as the red-black contrast works and the skirt of it puffs out in like a 1950's style. I also love the ribbon waist.

The ring my mum pointed out, as you know, I am a massive pug lover, but am aso a MASSIVE rabbit lover. I'll maybe introduce you to my gorgeous late bunny Humphrey one day.. (He was bigger than a dog!) Anyways, for £1 I could hardly say no, it's way too cute!!

I bought a few other bits and pieces too, which I think I'll do in my next post, as I am still new to blogging and don't want to run out of things to blog about already!

And again, thank you all so much for following me! It really does make me grin like Cheshire Cat! Who's feeling a 100 followers giveaway? I know I am! :)

Multi-Pastel Bobble

I would being lying if I said I wasn't nervous, as this is my first official 'outfit post'. Although, it isn't so much an outfit post as a 'hat and nails post'. This is purely for the fact that, being cameraless, these are taken on an iPad, and using timer is an issue.

Firstly, I'd like to start with a 'how awesome is this hat?!' I found it in a charity shop a few days ago for £1.50!! Bargain! I love the multicoloured pastel wool used and the huge bobble on the top. It reminds me of that 'special wool' we used to be allowed to use occasionally for crafts in Primary school.

The lipstick I am wearing in a hot-pink shade in unlabelled packaging. I picked it up at a Car-boot sale a few weeks ago (It was completely sealed, don't worry!) I liked the colour, and still do, however it does feel a bit 'wet' on my lips and comes off quite quickly.

I painted my nails using Barry M 'pink silver glitter - 337' and Models Own 'Ibiza Mix - Hk04' on the thumbs. You have to use several layers of the Ibiza mix if you're not layering it on top of another colour, which I haven't done properly here as I was running out of time whilst doing them. Whoops.

And lastly, the polo shirt I am wearing, am practically LIVE in nowadays!! I was going through super old clothes my Mum had from years and years ago that she wanted to put in a car-boot sale and found it, needless to say, I nabbed this one up before it went in!

Thank you to all of my new followers since my last post, it means so much to me and I'm so glad I'm getting into blogging!

My Super-duper dry hair cure

A few years back decided that packet-dying my hair all sorts of colours was a brilliant idea, that was, until I killed my hair and had to have it all chopped off. It took me almost 2 years to get it back to it's lovely natural blonde colour. But, alas, I finally did it. I swore to myself to never packed-dye it again, because it caused more trouble than it was worth.
However, about a month back, I was fairly poor and my hair was getting darker, so I thought 'hey, one time won't hurt!' It did. Now, I dread washing my hair as it becomes so dry and so knotty it looks as if I have dreadlocks!! That was until I found the little gem also known as 'Argan Oil' which sorted my dry hair right out.
Applying it to towel-dry hair after washing it, it makes my hair feels so silky and smooth. It also smells delicious!

Now, I was in Boots and there was so much choice of brands and prices I had no idea which to go for. However, Boots had a 3 for 2 offer on all hair products, so I decided to get the brand above which cost £11.99 for 100ml. And I also bought 2 of the Lee Stafford Argan oil pictured below. Purely because my mum wanted a bottle as she swears by it.
I have now tried out both Argan oils and can 100% say I much prefer the Lee Stafford, even though it was a massive £12.99 for 50ml! The Oil pictured above doesn't have a particular smell, and didn't feel as silky in my hair. However the Lee Stafford just makes me smile every time I smell it (I know I need a life!!)

So, if you're having problems with dry and knotty hair, especially dry hair, I say Argan Oil is a very suitable and helpful product. It may seem quite expensive for such a little amount, but you only need a couple of squirts each time you use it and the 50ml bottle seems to last forever!

I need help.

Top
Jumper - £3.50 - Charity shop, originally Primark
Skirt - £12 - New Look
Bottom
Dress - £11 - Primark

Having no job at the moment leaves me very tight for money. But there are reasons why I am currently jobless so it's okay. But i try not to let myself leave the house as I don't want to face myself with temptations. However today, I DID leave the house and managed to spend £50. Although I got a bargain jumper and plain stripey t-shirt from a charity shop and an AMAZING dress from Primark. I originally found this dress online on the Look website, but did not realise what material it is. I hate it, that lycra, spandexy feel material that clings to your body and shows all of your lumps and bumps. But I loved the print so much I had to buy it, I just may have to wear my Bridget Jones pants when I wear it.

My name is Sophie

I'm not even completely sure how to use blogspot. Never have been, and will probably never get to full grips with it.  But for the moment I think I'm going to hold my breath and give it my best shot! I think for me, it'll be a little bit of everything. I'm into fashion and beauty. So a fair bit of what I post will be fashion related. But it may just be odd pictures from life. Posting the things I do may inspire me to actually do exciting things as opposed to spending every minute of my spare time asleep or watching 'The Chase'.
So, my name is Sophie and hopefully this'll work out!
